Info Detail Spesifik
This is a special edition of the Bible produced and distributed by The Gideons International, an evangelical Christian association of business and professional men and their wives founded in 1899 . Their mission is to make the Word of God available worldwide, placing them in locations where people might seek hope, such as hotels, hospitals, prisons, and schools . These Bibles are not sold but are given away free of charge, funded by donations . A typical Gideon Bible or New Testament includes a short preface; a pamphlet or guide suggesting Bible verses for assistance in various troubles; translations of John 3:16 into a variety of languages and scripts; the biblical text itself without notes or references (either the full Bible or the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs); and a short description of the evangelical understanding of salvation with biblical quotations and a place for the reader to sign and date their confession of faith . The covers of the New Testament editions are often color-coded for their target audience (e.g., green for college students, red for schoolchildren, camouflage for the military) .
